making your donation with the Centre Foundation through Centre Gives to Community Help Centre on Tuesday, May 3 between 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM. If Community Help Centre receives the most unique donations at this time, we will win an additional prize of $1,000! Of course, any donation at any time from 6am Tuesday through 6pm Wednesday is greatly appreciated!
As an organization mainly run by volunteers, the Community Help Centre is able to help community members while simultaneously providing volunteer opportunities to our hotline staff and administrative assistants. Hotline staff gain invaluable experience regarding counseling, resource navigation, and people skills while at the same time learning what it means to truly give back to their community. Administrative assistants ensure sustainability of the agency and gain understanding of community resources and opportunities while gaining meaningful professional experiences.
Please consider helping us continue to provide these opportunities that strengthen individuals and our community!
CentreGives.org. This exciting, thirty-six hour on-line giving opportunity will go directly to nonprofits and will be amplified by Centre Foundation’s stretch pool. From Tuesday May 5th at 6am through Wednesday May 6th at 6pm, your donation will go twice as far to insure that Centre County residents in need have a 24/7/365 resource accessible to them.
Community Help Centre continues to provide emotional support, short-term counseling, and information and referral services to Centre County residents. During 2014, 10,000 individuals and families were offered assistance. Substance abuse and support group information, case management, budget counseling and advocacy, emergency shelter and transportation for eligible individuals, an emergency food pantry, and registration for our community’s overnight emergency shelter program all take place within CHC.
Please go to CentreGives.org on May 5 and 6 to designate your support. Thank you for helping CHC to be here 24 hours a day, everyday.
