Meet The Staff:

Executive Director: Denise McCann

Denise Herr McCann has served as the  Executive Director at Centre Helps  since August 2021.  She brings her experiences in drug and alcohol prevention, risk and protective factors, and mentoring to Centre Helps where she enjoys grant writing, program development, and advocacy and education. She is a certified family recovery specialist and also serves as a consultant to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, reviewing Runaway and Homeless Youth programs across the country. 

YOP Coordinator: Emily Wagner

Emily Wagner, CRS, CFRS has been with Centre Helps since October 2021 as the program coordinator for The Youthful Offenders Program. Before that she was the Life Skills Coordinator at an inpatient drug/alcohol and dual diagnosis facility. Her background is in drug and alcohol prevention and intervention. Emily was recently recertified as a Certified Recovery Specialist and a Certified Family Recovery Specialist. Emily is also certified with Project Towards No Drug Abuse, Adult Mental Health First Aid and Youth Mental Health First Aid. Lastly, she is working towards her Family Recovery Life Coach certification through The B.A.L.M network.

Jared Pavlock

Jared Pavlock has worked at Centre Helps since Spring 2019. He volunteered at Centre Helps as a Hotline Counselor while he was a student at the Pennsylvania State University. He graduated in Spring 2021 and majored in Immunology and Infectious Disease. Jared continued as a Hotline Trainer starting in Fall 2020 and helped individuals learn how to answer calls on the hotline through a 7-week program offered 3 times per year. In Fall 2021, Jared moved into the role of Basic Needs Case Manager at Centre Helps, and he continues to help individuals in the community who are facing basic need crises such as rent or eviction.

Moe Kawasaki

Moe Kawasaki has been with Centre Helps since Spring 2021 when she began her service as a volunteer hotline counselor, providing short-term emotional counseling and basic needs support to clients. She has also worked as an On-The-Job Training Instructor, helping train incoming hotline counselors. Starting in spring of 2023, Moe began working as a Basic Needs Case Manager, specializing with clients seeking treatment for drug and alcohol misuse. She has a B.S. in Psychology, with minors in Sociology and Child Maltreatment and Advocacy Studies.
